What to Rewatch Online: Warehouse 13 – NiceGirlsTV.com (2024)

Given how popular it has become to binge shows online that are no longer airing new episodes, such as the resurgence of Suits on Netflix last summer, I thought it would be fun to start a new column with my recommendations of shows that I think TV viewers should rewatch, or perhaps watch for the first time.

The first show that I thought of was Warehouse 13.

Warehouse 13 aired on Syfy, debuting its pilot episode on July 7, 2009. The series followed U.S. Secret Service Agents Myka Bering (Joanne Kelly) and Pete Lattimer (Eddie McClintock) when they were assigned to the secretive Warehouse 13 for supernatural artifacts.

Located in a barren landscape in South Dakota, Myka and Pete initially regarded this assignment as punishment, but as they went about their assignments to retrieve missing artifacts and investigate reports of new artifacts, they quickly came to understand the importance of what they were doing.

Myka and Pete reported to Artie Nielsen (Saul Rubinek), the Special Agent in Charge, who was a cryptographer and codebreaker for the NSA, and had spent over 30 years at Warehouse 13. They were soon joined by Claudia Donovan (Allison Scagliotti), a brilliant techno-wiz who could hack into almost any computer network, who ended up working with the team because she learned too many of its secrets. Artie became a surrogate father to Claudia, who was also on a mission to find her missing brother [more on him further down].

The team was later joined by Steve Jinks (Aaron Ashmore, twin brother of Shawn Ashmore, who appears in The Rookie), an ATF agent who was recruited to Warehouse 13 for his ability to tell when people were lying. Also part of the cast for most of the show’s run was Genelle Williams, who played Leena, the proprietor of the bed and breakfast in the nearby small town of Univille, which was where the team lived.

Also, I mentioned above about Claudia’s brother. Hallmark alum Tyler Hynes played Joshua Donovan, who possessed an unusually high IQ, and was a long-time friend of Artie. He conducted experiments with teleportation and was believed to have died during one of his experiments. I won’t spoil his storyline for those who have yet to watch Warehouse 13, but it is a great overlapping story within the series.

When you rewatch the show, make sure to also check out some of the other faces as you will be surprised who you see. All of the names that follow appeared in one episode. After five seasons on Syfy, Warehouse 13 came to a close on May 19, 2014 after airing 64 episodes.
