10 Skin Care Tools ACTUALLY Worth Adding to Your Routine | Slashed Beauty (2024)

Over the last few years, I’ve really leaned in to incorporating skin care tools and devices into my routine. Whether it’s an at-home alternative to an expensive medspa treatment, or has an everyday practical use like absorbing oil from my t-zone, I love finding something that can make my life easier and my skin look great.

Here are 10 skin care tools I personally love and find totally worth it– both budget friendly finds and smart splurges!

10 Skin Care Tools ACTUALLY Worth Adding to Your Routine | Slashed Beauty (1)

1. Pure Daily Care Face Steamer ($40)

Using a face steamer is one of the easiest ways to add a little practical luxury to your skin care routine. It helps hydrate the skin, while also boosting the absorption of your skin care products. It’s also great for the sinuses (be sure to use distilled water only, if inhaling!) and feels super relaxing. This nano-ionic facial steamer has a larger water tank that allows for 30 minutes of working time.

2. Revlon Oil-Absorbing Volcanic Stone Roller ($15)

Oily girlies, put down the blotting papers! This face roller uses a real volcanic stone which absorbs oil instantly from the face without messing with your makeup. You can pop out the stone and clean it when it’s dirty, and it’s ready to be reused! No more oily trash collecting in your bag, or running out of papers at inconvenient moments.

3. Fronnor Ice Roller for Face ($8)

An ice roller is a refreshing addition to anyone’s skin care routine. It can help reduce puffiness, reduce redness, as well as help with migraines and other pain. Using a roller like this versus actual frozen water is convenient and mess-free since it won’t melt all over your skin.

4. MainBasics Dry Body Brush ($9)

Dry brushing is great to exfoliate dry skin, prevent ingrown hairs, and smooth out generally bumpy or rough skin. This one from MainBasics features synthetic bristles, along with massage nodes to use for lymphatic massages and improving blood circulation. I find using a brush like this more effective for body exfoliating than scrubs.

5. Sdara Skincare Derma Roller ($11)

Microneedling has become a more common at-home skin care practice for several skin goals. Many people find success with it to fade acne scars, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as boost hair growth on the scalp and face. This roller is just about $10 with a 4.4 star rating from nearly 30,000 reviews on Amazon.

6. Silicone Facial Mask Applicators ($8 for 2)

I love a good face mask, but hate the mess. These double-ended mask applicators feature a spatula on one end to scoop and apply your favorite mask, and a face scrubber on the other end to help wash it off when you’re done with your treatment. It has significantly improved the experience of using masks that come in jars for me!

7. Tinkle Eyebrow Razors ($8 for 4-pack)

If you’ve ever been tempted to buy a dermaplaning device– don’t. Just buy these. Tinkle razors have been a staple in my beauty bag for decades. I use them to clean up my brows, and for dermaplaning: shaving my face to remove peach fuzz and dead skin. They work incredibly well and are so dang cheap, there’s just no reason to use anything else.

8. Foreo BEAR Microcurrent Facial Device ($329)

Microcurrent is one of the facial treatments I’ve been most thankful for heading into my 30s. It helps stimulate the facial muscles to tone, lift and tighten, and in turn reduces the appearance of fine lines. The Foreo BEAR has 5 microcurrent intensities and can pair with the Foreo App for pre-programmed routines so you don’t even have to think about what you’re doing. It’s helped make my expression lines much less noticeable.

9. Solawave 4-in-1 Radiant Renewal Skincare Wand ($169)

The Solawave is an amazing entry-level skin care device as it combines a few great therapies for an all-in-one tool. It features galvanic current to promote skin care absorption, red light therapy to help smooth fine lines, therapeutic warmth to reduce appearance of dark circles, and facial massage to help with puffiness. Just 10 minutes a day has made a great difference in my skin’s overall appearance. Check out my before and after photos in this post.

10. Foreo LUNA Devices ($129 – $279)

I’ve used different versions of the LUNA consistently for over a decade. It’s my favorite cleansing device as it provides a deep clean with your favorite face wash (it removes 99% of oil, dirt and makeup reside!) while feeling gentle on the skin. Unlike cleaning brushes, the LUNA’s silicone touch points don’t hold on to what you’re washing off. They’re ultra hygienic and there are no replacement parts to keep buying. I compare the different LUNA models in this post.

Do you incorporate skin care tools and devices in your routine?
